This certification allows us to support professionals in becoming licensed accounting practitioners. Practising certificates enable the delivery of services such as bookkeeping, accountancy, and business law to the public in the UK or abroad, subject to meeting the required conditions. These opportunities are currently available to accountants and bookkeepers working independently in practice.
What are practising certificates?
A practising certificate is an official qualification issued by professional accounting bodies. It allows individuals to work in public practice as accountants or bookkeepers or in similar roles. It confirms an accountant’s expertise, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining high standards within the financial services profession. Holding a practising certificate demonstrates competence, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements. These certificates must be renewed annually.
Requirements to apply for a Certificate
We provide professional certificates for eligible accountants and bookkeepers. Applicants must either have been registered with us for three or more years, gaining a combination of practical and theoretical experience, or have over five years of proven practical experience, also known as being qualified by experience.

Costs of applying for a professional certificate
At Association Of Certified Accountants Ltd, there is a one-off joining fee of £150.00 to apply for a professional certificate. After this, the annual fee is £550.00 for practising in Europe, the Americas, or Australia. If you are new to the financial services industry, you can train with us or another professional body to obtain certification.
